Another excellent pub run by a friendly couple Janice and Steve. It’s no surprise that this a local favourite as the ale is great and the locals are really welcoming. The town’s a tight knit community but you will always find that if you are a new person that there will be some one who will chat to you here and share a drink or two with you to help you settle in. Phil organises the quiz nights here I think – but not sure if he’s giving it up now after all these years. Recommend this pub particularly if you enjoy watching the sports matches or Olympics coverage as there is a wide screen tv with sky which Janice lets Steve put on every now and then!
