Reviews for The Furrow (The Plough)

Fell upon the plough a few years ago, recently found out that it has been taken over by new people (18 months ago it turns out) What a great little place it has become, Really nice food, more gastro then resturaunt, little farm shop out the back (which we missed, they need to get a bigger sign) We live in beconsfield so a taxi ride and back was the order of the day (good wine list)
If i had a local place like this i would become fat and drunk. Top notch

We had a fantastic meal there last Sunday, Good freindly service, Really top roast dinner, and the setting i don't think you can beat.

The place looks soooo homely on the inside, yet has stripped off the oldey worldy look of some country pubs, this may not be to everyones tastes, bookcases open fires, wooden furniture, chesterfields, then mixed with a massive dinning room, which is very plesent indeed, hand made wooden tables, etc etc.

for the 4 of us our bill was around £100, all had 3 courses, and a bottle of wine, and a couple of appitizers.

Really Nice day out, We will be back again.

Oh Dear!

I was invited to the village 'Buffet' dinner at The Furrow (or as the locals call it The Plough) by some friends of mine that have not long moved to this lovely little village. £15.00 per head excluding any drinks of course, and on the ticket it said 'Live Band'. Well the 'band' was an old couple, one singing and the other playing the electric piano, don't get me wrong, they were ok but hardly a live band. Anyway that's realy by the by, the real problem was that this Buffet didn't exist, a few mini sausages and the odd basket of chips brought round by a lad who didn't look old enough even to be in the pub, does not form the basis of what I or my friends call a Buffet. It was a very disapointing evening and a total waste of £60.00. My friends are looking forward to the Potters Arms re-opening in the spring, so the villagers will at least have a choice of pubs once again.
As my old form teacher used to say 'could do better' in this case MUCH BETTER!
