Over priced and well below average

A most disappointing meal yesterday. Very little choice. Had to wait 50 mins for starter to arrive. Tomato soup tasted like a shop bought pasta sauce. The
Spinach and chestnut parcels were changed at the last moment to 'mediteranean parcels' and when the large clod of unrisen puff pastry arrived it had a small filling of cabbage and celery. The accompanying vegetables were bland boiled carrots, mange tout and baby corn which were most probably frozen, lacking flavour and taste. Roast potatoes were VERY roasted. The meal was over priced, lacking imagination and poorly cooked. I will not eat there again or recommend The Hudson Bay to anyone else.

    Painfull

I would never eat here, or recommend it to anyone, again. The food was bland and under seasoned. We were sent out under-cooked, yet burnt roast potatoes, but when we complained we were told that they were "crispy". Blackened more like. The vegtables were over cooked, burnt, and tasteless. Everything tasted of butter and cheap olive oil. The starters were frozen and the "salad dressing" was a 79p mixed salad bag from who-knows-where? The bread was par-baked, not even home made. The deserts were vile. My apple strudle, was more like a tart that was made solely of cinnammon and the pastry was undercooked and cold. The ONLY saving grace was that the vennison was cooked nicely, however unseasoned. The red wine sauce with the vennison was not home made as stated, definately a packeted brand. Overall a very unpleasant and painfull experience, and after complaining, there was 70p knocked off our bill. Unbelievable. Worst thing is my partner is a chef and he would never have sent out any of the food that was served to us, nor employ the staff that waited on us. After speaking to the waiter, he advised that they never receive complaints. However, we arrived at 7pm on a Friday evening to find 2 other people eating, so what customers could complain if there were only 12 people there on a friday night? I have nothing good to say about our experience and THANK GOD for pages like this so i can warn other people of our experience.
