There are now 2 of these restaurants in Aberdeen, both offering good food and good service. The Union Street Restauraunt can become quite loud, but for mnay this may be seen as a good buzz. The Prices are very reasonable and 2 can easily eat for around £25 each. Pizza Express do excellent starters and main courses but their desserts are not great, we normally got to baskin and robins which is a short walk away to digest that good Italian food! This place is upmarket enough that you can take friends but cheap enough that it wont kill your bank account. Try and sit along the window as this is a quieter area of the restaurant. I order the Bruschetta every time we eat here, and the new romana based pizzas are delicious. Ask for flavoured Olive oil!

This is the first of two Pizza Express Restaurants in Aberdeen city centre. Recently refurbished, the Union Street venue is open and spacious. As part of a chain the menu is identical to all of the other revamped menus, with its currant emphasis on the tomato. There is a wide variety of pizza toppings to chose from, although for those wanting something different there is a selection of pasta and salads. The staff are friendly and the nature of the cuisine means that service from order to plate can be pleasant prompt, even on a busier night. My main quibble is the new layout of the restaurant: designed for optimum capacity most of the tables are set for two, but the raised section that enables more people to be seated also makes it feel like other diners are almost sitting on top of you. In future I would wait for a window table, as other peoples conversation is often less interesting than they would think, but overall it makes for an enjoyable dining experience with good value for money.
