Doca de Sto. AmaroArmazém 7, Lisbon, 1350-353

In May 2006 I visited Lisbon for 5 days. One evening I decided to take a break near the impressive Ponte 25 de Abril. In May 2006 I visited Lisbon for 5 days. One evening I decided to take a break near the impressive Ponte 25 de Abril. Here I discovered the Doca de Santo Amaro; which is a strip full of all sorts of pubs and restaurants. Unfortunately, all places are a bit pricey, but the location is just unbeatable as it offers splendid views of the bridge and the Cristo Rei Statue on the southern bank of the Tejo.

I headed to the "Celtas & Iberos" an Irish pub and restaurant with local and Irish specialties. Like all places here it has a large wooden outdoor seating area.

I had the "Bife a Portuguesa", a beefsteak fried in olive oil, garlic and laurel with round french fries, smoked ham and fried egg. I washed it down with a few Pints of beer.

DIRECTIONS:
The Celtas & Iberos Irish Pub is located at the Doca de Santo Amaro Marina, which is situated just unter the Ponte 25 de Abril. Take tram #15 and get off near the bridge. Another option is to take a suburban train from Cais Sodre to Alcantara Mar. The Doca de Santo Amaro is well signposted from there.
