Reviews for Bengal Tandoori
Offers a wide selection of Indian dishes and the one's we chose were tasty but nothing special; of average standard in comparison to British Indian restaurants. However, made an excellent break from Portuguese cuisine. Also stocks Tiger beer.
The restaurant is split into several spaces and the room we were in was hot, even on a cool day in May, but this only added to the ambience. The walls are covered in murals and the tables are candlelit.
Although the restaurant was busy, we didn't have to wait to be seated, service was generally swift - we didn't have to wait ages for our food nor go to any great length to attract the waiters' attention - and the price reasonable.
From Avenida the restaurant is a 5-minute walk up a steep hill. And, before you tackle that climb it might be worth knowing that, as far as we could tell, the toilets can only be reached via a *very* steep and narrow spiral staircase, which is fun to tackle if you're fit and able but less so if you're not (impossible for anyone on crutches or in a wheelchair).
