Reviews for Upstairs Pancake House (Pannekoekenhuis)
My friends and I went to this pancake house every weekend while we were in Amsterdam this summer.

The pankakes are giant and delicious. They aren't like american pankakes at all. The texture is different, more like athick crepe, and the ingredients are often cooked into the pankake itself. My favorite is bacon and pineapple!
The service is good and friendly, and the atmosphere is very small and quiant. I'm pretty sure the owner runs the restauraunt out of his home.
Don't miss this delicious food, and interesting Dutch cultural experience!
I have given this restaurant 4 star rating not only for their tasty pancakes but also the fact it is a unique dining experience in one of Amsterdams traditional canal style houses.
If you make it up these incredibly narrow steep steps to the second floor you are in for a treat. Huge delicious pancakes await you be your fancy sweet or savoury there is an extensive choice to wet your appetite. The house speciality is called the queens pancake. I always go for a savoury pancake whenever I visit.
This tiny restaurant has very limited seating and you will often be advised to come back at a specified time. The opening times are a bit strange he opens at around noon.
The walls are wood panelled and adorned with memorabilia of Queen Beatrix, a collection of teapots hang from the ceiling.
