Restaurant in the main square
Romer Bembel is a bar and restaurant located smack in the middle of the beautiful Romerberg (central square). Prior to our trip I had read that it was surprisingly un-touristy, so we decided to brave it for drinks and dinner one evening. Not the cheapest option, but enjoyable.
We chose a table out on the square, as the evening was not too cool (and there were heaters as well). We ordered a couple of small (half litre) beers and relaxed for a while, enjoying some people watching in the square.
As the light faded it was time to eat before I got too tipsy (I'm a cheap drunk!), so we ordered from the interesting menu - a Filet steak with potatoes and herb butter, and a Port knuckle with cabbage and of course potatoes. A couple of glasses of red wine were in order as well, as was a slice of Apple Strudel for dessert. Thankfully it was a 20 minute walk back to our hotel.
