The Media Harbour in Dusseldorf is a pretty 'cool' kind of area in its own right. Lido is the latest in bold developments in this pocket of architectural dynamism and there is only really one word to describe it: cool. I mean it in a good way.

There is a new footbridge linking up the two sides of the harbour and Lido is a box-like appendage sitting in the water. It is mainly glass and has fun views across the water and along the lit up bridge at night.

The interior is spacious, modern and fun. Lido has a lower level bar, that was relaxing and calm - in addition, there is a restaurant on the floor above which we did not visit.

When we visited it was subdued (part of its charm) but I suspect it will not be long before it is hummingly busy.

Worth a visit for the architectural experience/ novelty alone.
