A local with oodles of Berlin knowledge took me to Restauration 1900, which is a great place to know about in Berlin for breakfast/ brunch where you can sit outside.

I went on a Sunday and had an epic buffet brunch. The setting is terrific on a sunny day, sitting in the corner of the now fashionable and very pleasant Kollwitzplatz. Apparently Restauration 1900 has survived being a popular institution from socialist times, which is a rarity.

A local with oodles of Berlin knowledge took me to Restauration 1900, which is a great place to know about in Berlin for breakfast/ brunch where you can sit outside.

I went on a Sunday and had an epic buffet brunch. The setting is terrific on a sunny day, sitting in the corner of the now fashionable and very pleasant Kollwitzplatz. Apparently Restauration 1900 has survived being a popular institution from socialist times, which is a rarity.

I would make a point of going back and looking around the area some more. There is a pleasant garden in Kollwitzplatz (for an after brunch kip in the sun) and conveniently an excellent ice cream shop on the other side of the square...sorry cannot remember its name but can strongly recommend a visit.
