The first thing you get asked is rare or medium - no long description of the menu here then. The abrupt introduction hides a magnificent steak and frites feast - which is topped up and then followed by huge desserts. But get there early as the queue never seems to go away.... it must be good.

Recommended by my good friend, Jenni, Le Relais de L'Entrecote is now one of my most favourite restaurants in Paris.

There is no fancy mumbo jumbo involved. Steak and Fries is the only main course. A simple salad with mustard dressing and crushed walnuts is the only starter. And of course, there is a long list of French desserts. House red is smooth and tasty and so is their Grand Caprice. All in all, there is absolutely nothing to dislike.

"Come once and you'll come back" is what they say to their customers. I'd be fooling myself if I disagree with that.

Ah Jimbo, how cool that you went to Paris and tried out the famous Relais de l'Entrecote. It's also one of my favourite places back home in Paris. If you miss that steak and special sauce then go to Marylebone and try Le Relais De Venise L'Entrecote ;-)

I already have, Walid. It's only a few minutes walk from our office in Queen Anne.

The Paris one is my favourite though. They're exactly how my ideal restaurant is: Top quality food and service with zero pretentiousness. The mood is also fantastic. It's the definition of the tag "lively" here on TrustedPlaces!

This is the place for a great piece of meat. Usually served with house-recipe sauce that adds a brilliant twist to a basic meal. Low key deco, but enjoyable with sme friends.

This is the type of place where you go to eat steak and fries. You don’t even need to bother looking at the menu because there really isn’t one. The only decision you’ll need to make is either ordering rare, medium or well done. The starter is automatically a simple green salad. What makes this place so famous is their sauce. The sauce that comes with the fries and meat is unbelievable! Therefore if you want to go, expect to be in a qeue outside (especially on weekend) because they don’t take reservations.

Yes it is as good as the Parisian version, in matter of fact I'll have to review it.
Mez at 22/11/06

You're not afraid of a meat overload between l'entrecote and Anahi?
