The Bridge Cafe

Reviews for The Bridge Cafe

I was taken to both branches of the Bridge cafe by a friend who is studying at Tsinghua University in Beijing (they're both pretty close to one another, across the main street, Cheng Fu road). I was so pleasantly surprised by how cosy and homey these student-frequented cafes were. They're the kind of places you could easily spend hours in, whether to study, sip your tea or coffee, surf the net, discuss the meaning of life, etc.

Free wi-fi makes for a busy scene, with many patrons lingering for longer than average. It is popular with ex-pats and you hear a lot of English being spoken, but has an international appeal (French and Italian film posters and Obama stickers alike adorn the walls)that seems to attract all kinds of people.

I liked it a lot and the lavender tea, peanut butter chocolate toast (massive!), red wine and tiramisu all come highly recommended. Definitely worth a look if you're in Beijing for long enough to get outside of the city centre and feel like you want to blend in a bit more!

Wow sounds like a great place. Would love to try it out on my first trip to Beijing... now if only I could find some time ;-)
