603 King Street, Toronto, M5V1M5

Lee restaurant is the cooler (ok cheaper) half of Chef Susar Lee's two King Street Restaurants in Toronto.

I had heard from a few locals that this was a really fun place to go and I was not disappointed.

Fun, hip, tasty and original, I would go back (that is the ultimate test right?).

The deal is that you order bundles of tapas size dishes and share them all. It is really like a tasting session as each dish is a mini-voyage of discovery.

At times the dishes are a triumph of presenation over actual excellence but there are enough really tasty dishes to enthuse and satiate you. Ones that spring to mind are: Miso Cod, beet & horseradish, cucumber thingy and the coleslaw.

Not bad at all and worth a go for fun. Our evening was given a boost because (apparently) we were sitting next to the entire Montreal Hockey Team, which was generating considerable excitement around the room and with our guests. I am reliably informed that this would be similarly suprising as sitting next to Manchester United in the UK. I guess that this confirms Lee's (and chef Susar Lees) reputation a place to see and be seen! I guess it goes without saying that it is not cheap, but it was fun.
