Only few minutes away from the central Vitosha Blvd and right next to the NDK ( palace of Culture )is Tsar Assen Street.
Beautifully lined up with leafy trees and hiding away from the City centre noise.
The Clock is located at N. 18 in an old house. The garden in front is very nice and welcoming with 6 tables all shaded up by large umbrellas.
Inside, everywhere the eye can reach, there are loads of clocks, mostly old; on the top of the bar, shelves, walls etc. hence the name.
The Menu offers an extensive range of food and drinks, both Bulgarians and international.
We started with a fresh raw vegetables salad and a mushroom and sundried tomatoes cream soup.
Our main courses were the Schnitzel with sauted courgettes and Bulgarian Risotto with black sea scampi.
Portions are huge and everything is absolutely fresh and delicious.
To complete our meals we ordered a bottle of Khan Krum from the Valley of the Roses, a light yet powerful and fruity white wine.
The background music is very pleasant being a mix of local folk and international tunes.
Service is laid back but very friendly and efficient and the overall atmosphere is extremely cozy and chilled out. Great squeaky wooden floors give the Clock a special extra touch of warmth.
This is a great place whether it's a romantic dinner, a business lunch or just a meal. And if you don't fancy any food, you're welcome to seat at the bar and just sip.away.
Prices are average for locals so very cheap for foreigners.
The Clock is at N.18 Tsar Assen Street . Tel 0888309090. No website last we visited in 2006.
This is another often unlisted great place. A very precious Bulgarian Jewel.
    Love it
