Sunday Samba Rio Stylee
OK so Berlin, Paris, San Francisco and even little Santorini are now represented on TrustedPlaces. Its about time for Rio to muscle in on the act. This place is my all-time favourite night spot in the party-capital of the world. Many happy hours were spent being educated in the mysteries of samba and mingling with the care-free, friendly patrons of Bar Semente. Attracting a dedicated crowd of well-educated music lovers (including a steady flow of sublimely sexy garotas) its samba at its best. Smiling faces and firey loins are guaranteed!
Aaaah, the memories! Wandering down to Semente on a balmy Sunday night. Shirt, shorts and flip-flops. One caipirinha to get the pulse racing, then a couple of beers (Brazilian style, ie, from a big bottle into little glasses, so you can share with everyone and not get too hammered). The gentle choro music pleasantly carressing your senses. The humming crowd of familiar faces (and bottoms, legs, hips, etc)partying their way into the new working week without a care in the world. Then the serious business begins...after the interval the samba heats up and the dancefloor explodes into a writhing mass of hip-swinging, twinkle-toed, groin-gyrating ecstasy. Choose your partner (or on rare occasions, be chosen/dragged) and get jiggy Rio style. Happy happy days! If you ever find yourself in Brazil, head to Rio. Once there, head to Lapa and once in Lapa, head to Semente. Tell them you know me and they'll treat you like an old friend. Just make sure your dancing's up to scratch though!
