Ok so it's not environmentally friendly of me being UK based and recommending a bar in Melbourne. BUT WOW ! what a bar! Cookie also doubles as thsi restaurant that serves amazing food. Not that authentic, but accomplished and suprisingly sophisticated for a trendy bar.

Situated on Swanston street you go up three flights of stairs to find this treat. i recommend a summer (our winter) visit when you can sit on the balcony and watch the passers by with a cocktail (EXTENSIVE list) and some delectable thai nibbles. Move? why should you, you can people watch, and if the view outside doesn't tempt you to stay the cute and friendly bar staff will encourage you to discover what is the cocktail treat of the day. These change daily, depending on whose working, what the vibe is and how many bottles can be spun in the air at once.

Some of the menu is unusual in its combinations: one of my favourites was the betel bliss bombs: DIY betel leaves, peanuts, lime, coconut, ginger, onion and dried shrimp with sticky shrimp and coconut sauce.

Like i said worth the air fare alone.
