Reviews for Jackman & McRoss Bakery
This is the second Jackman McRoss bakery - there is another one in Battery Point but as it is near my Mum's house, this is the one she took me too. Now maybe you think "What do people eat in Tasmania?" cause it is so far away and not a lot going on. How about venison and quince pie? Slow cooked chuncky beef pie? Well - to be honest, I was so gobsmacked at how amazing everything looked that Mum and I took forever to decide what we wanted - I kept changing my mind - and being super amazed that this place existed THERE. One of these incredible pies cost about AU$5. That is about £2.
And the coffee was really good! And you can get soya milk without anyone saying "You know what we do to the drinks people like you order, don't you?" and rolling their eyes.
On my holiday at home visiting my family I went back to Jackman & McRoss as often as I could sampling as much of what they had to offer. There were also more different types of bread available than I could eat in a month: fig loaf, sour dough, crusty white.
Give my Mum a call and she would be happy to take you here for lunch.
