Reviews for Diva Coffee & Tea House
I am a local living very close to the Marina Mirage complex. I dropped into the Diva Tea & Coffee House for (what I hoped would be) a relaxing cup of tea and something 'yummy' to eat. I had been wandering the shops and was drawn to this coffee place by the 'live' jazz music of a local talented female singer. However, just as I got there, the music stopped. There were only 3 people (by now) seated at the outside tables. There were 4 staff on inside. I asked for a black earl grey tea and a passionfruit tart. I asked if there was 'table service' so I could sit down outside. I was told (very rudely) "no, you'll have to wait for your order". I was then left standing there for some time. I was asked if I wanted a 'mug' or a 'pot'. I asked for a pot. The girl brought the wrong dessert. Instead of the passionfruit tart, she gave me a passionfruit pudding. When I politely told her this she merely gave me a 'filthy' look, no smile, no apology and 'huffed' her way to get the right one. I then asked if I could have help to the table as I was 'loaded up' with a big shoulder bag, bags of things I had purchased at the shops etc. She refused! Despite not being busy. I was given a very dirty, round, small black tray which was overloaded with a cup/saucer, pot tea and plate of dessert. I 'juggled' my way to an outside seat. There were dirty tables, not cleared away from previous patrons. When I poured the tea, I could have stood my spoon up in it. It was SO strong because the girl had put about 1/2 the packet of tea in the small pot! I could not leave my seat to let her know because I had my bag and parcels. I tried to attract someone's attention inside, but they were all too busy talking to each other. I would NEVER go back to this place. Bad service, bad tea and very very bad ATTITUDE!!
If you find yourself wandering around near Marina Mirage and want a place to have a quick coffee or nice cup of tea then one of the more affordable options in the area is to pop into Diva Coffee & Tea House.
Ok, it is nothing special, and probably caters mainly to tourists and the neighbouring boutique workers, but it did the trick when we needed an afternoon top-up.
Service was friendly and there was a decent smattering of people there on a mid-week afternoon. We just had a pot of tea and shared some treats - a florentine and a couple of cookies.
