I came to the Cafe/Restaurant on a sunday morning after being recommended by my friend. I booked a table for two (my wife and I) and very much glad we did, they were so busy, but so very much under control.

We were greeted by a male staff member and taken to our table, water was then brought and a drink order was taken. Not long after our order was taken, we had our drinks! We were very surprised as to how long we waited for our two coffees- overwhelmed really!

Breakfast was soon brought out and with a smile and a heart-felt "enjoy your breakfast" from another staff member, we ate. I had Eggs Benedict with bacon and asked for mushrooms on the side (yum!) My wife was talked into having a "Famous Waffle" with bananas and caramel sauce!

To this day (2 months later) we highly recommend the cafe to any of our friends travelling to cairns, and recommend their food!

A little cafe hidden the the tropical botanic gardens this place is definatley a hidden treasure of cairns dining places.
We cant wait to head back!

Located in the suburb of Edgehill are the Flecker Botanic Gardens. Admission is free to the gardens, and during a visit you may happen across the Botanic Gardens Restaurant/Café. It is open daily from 8.30am–4.30pm, and is a handy place for a snack or light meal.

The Botanic Gardens are located very close to Cairns airport, and therefore were a handy place to visit for a few hours before flying to Sydney. After a quick wander through part of the gardens we headed to the café for lunch. It is hidden away amongst some tall plants, but there are signs to guide you to it.

It has a very relaxed feel, with laid-back service. The menu consists mainly of salads and open grilled sandwiches, though there is a specials board with some hot meals as well.

We ordered a couple of different 'Open Focaccia Grills', though they weren't really on focaccia, and the serving was quite small for the cost. Oh well, the food tasted ok, and filled the gap.
