The Woolwich Pier Hotel is an historic pub located in a prime position on the point in Woolwich. It has recently been renovated and now offers a sports bar, as bistro, a large outdoor dining area, a cocktail bar, and a restaurant on the 1st floor with wrap around balcony offering stunning views of the harbour.

Having visited there for a drink in pre-renovation days, I was keen to go back, and when a friend suggested meeting there for a meal I was really looking forward to it.

We decided to eat in the upstairs section, and managed to find an empty table on the balcony. We stood for a while gazing out at the view - magic. It turned out that we had to go downstairs to order our food from the Bistro, and then go back down and collect it again too.

We happened to visit on Steak night, where you can get a big juicy steak for only $12.50. How could we resist! My friend ordered hers with mash and I ordered mine with fries - I can't resist them ; ) The meal was a decent sized serve and of good quality. A bargain I tell you!
