Salt Village is a peculiar place located just outside of the small beachside town of Kingscliff. While technically still a part of Kingscliff, it is a world apart. Salt is a large residential and commercial development by the sea. There is house after house popping up here, and many more vacant blocks waiting to be built on.

Within Salt Village there is a small complex of shops with a few restaurants and cafes. We drove to this part of Kingscliff for a look around and decided to stop off for refreshment while we were there. The Saltbean Espresso Bar caught our eye due to its modern fit out and shady tables.

We ordered from the friendly man at the counter and took a seat. Coffee and tea was what we were after, along with a tasty little treat - a choc chip cookie and an almond friand being our choices to share.
