Rather non-descript and lacking that special something to make it stand out among Londons competitive districts, Willesden is far more of a home than an attraction. Conveniently situated within twenty minutes of Baker Street and major shopping centre Brent Cross, its biggest asset is its friendly and relaxed atmosphere. This makes the area very welcoming and indeed has enticed a large number of young Antipodeans into taking up home here. Willesden Green is the nicest part, quiet and leafy. Over the last few years a worthy selection of places for a night out have sprung up, both traditional and more upbeat. Most of the restaurants share that warm and cosy feeling that Willesden exuberates; Sushi Say is especially popular for its creative dishes, with some going as far to say its the best of its kind in London. Not the sort of place you would go out of your way to visit but with excellent transport links it might just be worth a peek.
