Well, as the regeneration bug hits Stratford, there’s very much a mix of old and new – greasy cafés and pound shops stand next to Starbucks and estate agents. Stratford Circus, a performing arts centre, adds a cultural air, pushing the area into the ‘ up and coming category whilst transport links are among the best in London, a mere ten minutes to Bank. One could argue this is why when it comes to nights out; Stratford is not for the adventurous. Restaurants are few in number, although Manus, a South Indian with an exciting menu, is highly recommended. Clubs are non existent and pubs a touch on the predictable side. In a couple of years, however, it will all be very different.
