Mayfair, the capitals most exclusive district. Its got the highest rents in London, the greatest number of luxury hotels and you know that when you land on it in monopoly it is pretty much game over. Bordered by Hyde Park, Piccadilly and Oxford Street, it is near impossible to get a dinner table at 'Gordon Ramsay Claridges' and one night at the Dorchester will probably set you back more than your usual full holiday budget. So you might be thinking if only but all is not lost. Try having lunch instead at one of the top restaurants-its better in both terms of cost and availability- whilst if you are looking for something a little less pretentious then perhaps head for the Hard Rock Café. The Absolut Ice Bar is good for a night out with a twist and if classical music is your thing then the Handel House museum will be of interest. Failing all that, well, a bit of window shopping never hurt anyone.
