Surrounded by the pinnacles of Londons modern chic, Marylebone manages to blend this style with a hint of village charm. And although the result is not quite as pleasing as Mayfair or popular as Soho, the area oozes a warm sophistication. Baker Street, the commercial centre of the district, maintains its association with Sherlock Holmes through a museum in his honour-a must for any fan. Around the corner is the world famous Madame Tussauds Waxworks. Marylebone High Street, meanwhile, has a good selection of upmarket shops which are complimented by a number of stylish cafés. Towards the West of the area, the Arabic influence of Edgware Road is felt through Middle Eastern restaurants. Whats on offer varies right between super sleek to laid back and casual meaning there is something here for everyone, not least personified by the bars. Head to the Kings Head for traditional or Coco Momo for trendy.
