A location which would leave many green with envy, Kennington is situated right at the heart of the capital, lying south of the Thames. The area, however, is quite different to what one might expect from its geographical positioning. Home of the Oval Cricket Ground, residents describe it as an urban village which relies strongly on a sense of community. Its largely working class ties are evident in the dominance of local businesses; this is not the kind of place with a Starbucks at every turn. Restaurants are nice and varied, ranging from tapas at the Finca, Indian at Ghandis to the strangely unique Lobster Pot. The Tiki South Pacific bar is one of very few in London, whilst Cleaver Square is home to a number of more traditional and cosy offerings. And if whats on offer does not suit, well only fifteen minutes away is the West End - perfect.
