In the middle of the City and the West End sits the slightly rakish district of Holborn. Traditionally, the preferred haunt of London's lawyers and journalists, the area has unsurprisingly long established itself as an oasis of quirky pubs and watering holes. An area at one time famous for harbouring prostitutes and associated lowlifes, Holborn has even now remained unwilling to stamp itself on to the London 'tourist trail' and as such is one of the few parts of the city in which it is possible to go for a relatively quiet meal or drink...
