With a number of its former residents (including Keats and Blake) going on to achieve the highest international acclaim, one could conclude that Hampstead has a magic touch. And while perhaps its not quite that simple, one glance around the area is enough to see why it has been so inspiring to its literary geniuses. An atmosphere swirled with intellect and artistic influence; architectural heritage sites including Isokon House accompany the untamed eerie beauty of Hampstead Heath. The winding cobbled streets of the Old Village feel as if they have come straight out of a Dickens novel (and as another past inhabitant, they probably did) whilst the Spaniards Inn, a 16th century pub is famed for hiding Dick Turpin. Cosmopolitan flavours fill Heath Street with Jin Kichi being a popular dining choice. Currently home to Britains biggest concentration of millionaires, Hampstead is evidently wealthy. Yet its also unspoilt, giving it an air of timeless glamour.
