Hammersmith is probably most famous for the now defunct, Hammersmith Palais, the venue being forever immortalized in the Clash song "White Man in the Hammersmith Palais". Even to the stranger, W6 seems curiously familiar, until one realizes that, given its proximity to both the BBC in nearby White City, and its own Riverside Studios, Hammersmith has been used as a location in so many popular TV shows such as the "The Sweeny" and "Bottom"...
