Unlike some of its over gentrified neighbours, Finsbury Parks residents claim it has an aura of somewhere real and lived in. Multi cultural and friendly, the area has got pretty much everything you need in terms of everyday living. Along Stroud Green Road are a great selection of local deli's and small stores and these are complemented by an array of restaurants providing tastes of Africa, South America and Turkey to name but a few. Chez Lilline is particularly recommended for its exquisite fish dishes which are far more creative than your usual battered cod. Essentially a Pub area (if clubs are more your thing then its best to head one more stop on the southbound Victoria Line), the Faltering Fallback has a real neighbourhood spirit and cosy atmosphere, not to mention a fantastic Thai kitchen. And lets not forget the Park itself, complete with the beautiful Mackenzie Garden; perfect for a mid evening stroll.
