Usually judged before it’s been visited, Bethnal Green is primarily associated with being rough, run down and the rather notorious Kray twins. Which is a pretty unfair assessment. As nearby Shoreditch steals the headlines, Bethnal Green has managed to feel the effects of gentrification, but nothing too drastic. Rather it maintains a strong East End feel mixed with Bangladeshi influences and a hint of trendy inspiration.
