The areas natural beauty is conserved within Battersea Park, thought by many to be the most interesting of its type, where magnificent fountains are complemented by a stunning Japanese Peace Pagoda. Recent changes have seen an influx of inhabitants from neighbouring Chelsea and this has led to an inevitable addition of hip and happening bistros. Locals maintain, however, that the areas ability to amicably mix old and new, rich and poor is its biggest asset. Entertainment varies from cocktail bars to art exhibitions. Food wise, one can find a selection of cheap yet fully appetising restaurants or try out fish and chips in a sleek surrounding. Its all a bit mix matched but it works really well, adding a vibe which is truly local.
