With apparently the largest number of restaurants per head of population of any city in Europe, you can ensure your taste buds are tantalised with an array of international flavours. Surrounded by the relaxing Lothian's, complete with stretching beaches and famous golf courses, Edinburgh is lively and cosmopolitan yet with the deepest of historically fascinating roots, taking a trip here is a really enriching experience, if only to see whether Robert Louis Stevenson was correct in his assessment that "Edinburgh is what Paris ought to be".
