TrustedPlaces makes spreading word of mouth both fun and easy. With TrustedPlaces you can easily record your favourite restaurants, bars, cafes, clubs, pubs and much more so that you can share them and discover your friends' and their friends' top recommendations.
Yes, everything you see on the TrustedPlaces website is free. The service is paid for by advertisers, which are always clearly marked as such, who recognize the value of word of mouth and local communities. The only service for which we charge a small amount is when you request information via an SMS on your mobile.
Because like yourself, our friends and us have always had trouble finding great new places to check out without it being a hassle. More importantly we are passionate about word of mouth and feel that trusted recommendations shouldn't just stay in our heads but should be shared with all.
You can write reviews of your favourite bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs, and much more so that you don?t forget them. You can also share your favourite places, and you can find new inspirational places to go to as recommended by your friends and their friends. We are also working on finding a solution to world peace, but this may take us a bit more timeS but do check back you never know.

No, TrustedPlaces can be used anywhere in the world. However, the focus is on the UK at the moment so some of our tools may not be ideal for all other countries. However we are working hard on offering similar tools to other countries. Countries with the most users will probably be catered first… So lets see which country will be the 1st to win!

Never. Just like yourself, we don’t like it when companies resell our personal details or “steal” the content we created. Thus we take a very strict policy by not reselling your personal details. Whenever you search for places you can refine the results by choosing a place that is close to you. By providing us with your address we can tell you what are the cool places around your address.
You can cancel your membership with TrustedPlaces at any time by sending us an email at info@trustedplaces.com. We will feel sorry that you left and hope you’ll come back at a later stage.
Notifications are used to keep you informed about recent activity that is relevant to you. For example you can receive an email to let you know when you’ve received a message or a recommendation from one of your friends.

Tags are keywords that you use to categorize information in the way you see fit. Example of tags for a French Restaurant could be: French, cosy,“Parisian restaurant”, bistro, “friendly staff”. When you search for something TrustedPlaces will bring out any place that matches those tags.
A tag cloud is a graphical representation of the most popular tags used to describe / categorize a place. The bigger the tag the more popular it is, the smaller the tag the less popular it is.
Tags are a great way for you to remember why you really liked this place or why you didn’t like it. For example you could tag a bar as having the “cutest singles in town”
Creating a review takes on average 3 minutes and 28 seconds. Of course that can vary depending on how much you wish to tell us about this place!
Try to remember 5 new great restaurants, bars or cafes you recently discovered. Do you remember them? This is why we suggest individuals to create reviews so that they can always remember new great places they discover and also share them efficiently with all of their friends.
You need to know the name of the place, ideally its address (or roughly where you think it is on a map), and finally what tags you’d like to give it.

No, you can’t get in trouble for writing a bad, honest review of a place. As long as your review is honest and doesn’t criticize the place using vulgarity or obscenity we will all value your review.

Yes, you can essentially create any topic in the forum as long as it isn’t malicious in its nature. Please review our Terms and Conditions for further clarifications.
It is possible that the user hasn’t been online to view your request to be on each others friends list or they may have chosen not to accept your request.

We believe that TrustedPlaces provides you with a great service enabling you to remember, share, and discover great places. We also believe in rewarding you if go the extra mile in reviewing places.
You earn different set of points for certain actions you do on the site such as adding a review or adding pictures to someone else’s reviews. Each of those points counts as a single ticket towards a lottery draw that we will hold regularly. You can increase your chances of winning the prize by being more active on the site and collecting more points. The system notifies you on how likely you are to win, by placing you in 3 different categories:
At the end of each month we will randomly draw a ticket. If your ticket is drawn you won the monthly prize. At the end of each year will also randomly draw a ticket for the yearly prize. If your ticket is drawn you won the yearly prize.

You can win numerous different prizes from a dinner for two at participating restaurants in your city all the way to a weekend for two in another city with a dinner for two at participating restaurants.
