Halloween - Brazilian Style!

It’s Halloween week and we are very excited! Not only do we have our Day of the Dead party to look forward to at Chilango on Friday, there’s lots of other parties going on. Alexthepink recently went to a fabulous Brazilian Halloween party at Galvin at Windows.  She’s written a guestpost for us. Over to Alex!

What better way to spend a cold, wintry Sunday night than living it up at a Brazilian All Saints Day-cum-Halloween party?

The bf and I did just that this weekend, courtesy of the lovely chaps and chapesses at Trusted Places, and the Brazilian music specialists Ziriguidum.  The location was Galvin at Windows, the bar at the Michelin “rising star” restaurant on the 28th floor of the Park Lane Hilton, complete with breathtaking views over the city.  And it wasn’t just the location that was glamorous.  The beautiful Brazilians were salsa’ing (or was that samba’ing?) to DJ Cliffy’s Latino beats and many, many delicious (and expensive) Cahaca based cocktails were going down very nicely.  I sampled a zingy raspberry based Rio de Janeiro and a darker, moodier Black Jack, which both tasted even better for being consumed on a school night.

With spectacular floor-to-ceiling views and expertly dextrous bartenders, I found the high-rise razzle-dazzle to be very reminiscent of some of the more flashy bars in Hong Kong.  A great time was had by all, in fact the only downside of the whole evening was yet another fancy restaurant to add to my wishlist!

What are you doing for Halloween? Going somewhere great you’d like to share? Don’t forget to add a review or get in touch about writing a guestpost: niamh@trustedplaces.com.
