The Cuisine Cup

For all of you food afficionados and home chefs, L’atelier des Chefs in London are running a Cuisine Cup for cooks, their only rule with regard to the standard is that you must not be a professional. It’s a multinational competition, with one of the finals taking place in London, the others in France and Belgium. To enter, all you need to do is submit a salmon recipe of your own by November 10th, the 12 UK finalists will then prepare their dishes in L’atelier des Chefs on Novembers 23rd.

It’s quite an exciting one! Not only do you get the buzz of competing at their gorgeous kitchens with 11 others, all UK finalists get a £72 gourmet gift voucher. On November 23rd, you’ll get to redo your recipe in front of a Jury including Pascal Aussignac (Club Gascon), Will Torrent (UK pastry champion) and chefs from L’atelier on a very relaxed ambiance. As everything will be filmed, you’ll find yourself on Cuisine Cup web TV for the best parts! Everybody can participate, but no chefs allowed!

The winner of the London heat gets to travel to Norway for 4 days with the other winners. The prize includes flights, bus up to the beautiful Frøya island, where the candidates will sleep in traditional boathouses. There will be a chef present that will prepare all the meals and the trip will include a  stop in Oslo to visit the culinary Institute, where the best Norway chefs work and train (among whom a few Bocuse d’Or). Following this, the overall winner wins a Krups Prep Expert Series 9000.

You can read more about it on their blog, or on the Cuisine Cup website.

Why not get yourself along to tea and chocolate tasting at Teasmith’s or Chocolate classes at L’atelier des Chefs (who we mentioned only the other day)? […]
