Covent Garden Night Market

Covent Garden Night Market has returned, revisiting its heritage as the original larder of London with London’s only food night market, and this year including a kitchen theatre fronted by celebrity chefs.
We went along on Friday with some of our blogger friends, including: Julia of A Slice of Cherry Pie, Helen of Food Stories, Ros of Living to Eat, Krista of Londonelicious, Chris of Londonist, and, Alex of The Princess and the Recipe.
We started with the Hairy Bikers, who were doing a demonstration at the Kitchen Theatre. They were very entertaining and super friendly, lots of fun. When they had finished, we focussed on the market itself and the food. There was lots of stalls and they had a range of exciting and delicious produce on offer, so much in fact, that we struggled to decide what to indulge in. Popular items included gorgeous cupcakes from the Lavender Bakery, the hog roast from Rainha Santa, and champagne and oysters from McManus Oysters. There’s lots to take away too, if you’re feeling indulgent, as we were.

The night markets run every Thursday and Friday until 29th August (3:00pm-10:00pm on Thursdays and 12:00pm - 9:00pm on Fridays). Kitchen theatres will take place from 6.30pm. Further info below and we have lots of pictures on flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/trustedplaces/.
