Laura Meets: Niamh Shields
Niamh Shields is the food blogger behind Eat Like A Girl, posting tasty recipes, photos and food-related reviews. “If I am not eating, I am planning my next meal” she says, and her passion shines through - ELAG may be just over a year old but has a loyal following and has already been mentioned on numerous occasions by Word Of Mouth - The Guardian Food Blog, no less!
I sat down with Niamh this week to talk about why food inspires her, get the lowdown on the best places to eat out in North West London and discover the best way to get reinspired by food.

Really enjoyed watching your video, Niamh, and appreciate your kind words. Although in some ways we are at very different points of the food blogging spectrum, I really like your blog because your genuine passion for food just shines through.
Don’t be embarrassed by cooking simple food. What you did with that simple Welsh rarebit shows a great understanding for ingredients and their textures and flavours. One of the best dishes I ever ate was the deconstructed version of pa amb tomà quet shown in the first photo here: http://aidanbrooks.blogspot.com/2007/12/lunch-with-alchemist.html
You can’t get more simple, or more exquisite.
If you are in London in July, I’d like to take you out to eat to my favourite restaurant in Marylebone. Email me nearer the time if you can make it.

Niamh, thanks very much for the mention. Just to prevent some confusion - I’m not actually a member of the UK Food Bloggers Assoc.
