Laura Meets: Julia Parsons

This week I had a chat with Julia Parsons, the lady behind food blog A Slice Of Cherry Pie. Her blog is a marvellous mix of recipes, gorgeous photographs and interactive events for readers. We discussed her favourite dishes, what she loves about cooking and why she finds this blogging thing so enjoyable.

Interview Notes

03:16 - Photos from Julia’s Easter Cake Bake events can be viewed here.

03:41 - In The Bag is a monthly event run by Julia with Scott from Real Epicurean. Previous rounds and inspiring recipes can be found here.

04:30 - Julia set up the UK Food Bloggers Association, which has over 100 members and counting.

05:22 - Check out Julia’s recipe for Heavenly Roast Chicken - if this is her all-time favourite dish it must be seriously good! She also makes stock and risotto from the leftovers, amongst other dishes.

08:15 - Julia’s favourite restaurant is Choi’s in Chislehurst, see her Trusted Places review here, and her very entertaining recent blog post about their battered salt and pepper frogs legs dish here.

Julia reads far too many great food blogs to be able to recommend just a few but urges us all to visit the UK Food Bloggers Association site to browse through their many members. Don’t forget to catch up with Julia’s own blog, A Slice Of Cherry Pie, and visit her Trusted Places profile here.

We hope you’re enjoying these video interviews as much as we are, but who should we interrogate next? Let us know your thoughts!
