How Was Your Weekend?

It sounds like you Trusted Placers have been painting the town red, eating, drinking and dancing your way through the weekend and coming back to tell us all about your exploits. Not content with a simple night down the boozer you’ve been having interesting experiences all over town and yes, we’re getting ever so slightly jealous of your buzzing social lives.

In London it’s all Taiwanese bubble tea at Sapporo Ichiban, Pakistani cuisine at Mirch Masala, freezing cold drinks (and fingers) at the Absolut Icebar and live opera and cocktails at Little Bay. Catford’s Sapporo Ichiban might look shabby from the outside, but as ablair9999 says, “step inside…and you will be amazed”. Not too sure about opera as an accompaniment to your night out? petrayoung was sceptical too but assures us that “the singer was a real character and had us laughing all night”.

Up in Scotland, Edinburgh’s enjoying romantic fine dining in the medievel surroundings of The Witchery By The Castle and a refreshing pint (or three) at The Rabbie Burns, which impressed American tourist BetoMiranda13: “We Yanks were looking for a place to rest our dogs and have a feel of the local people and we found it”. You Glasweigans are giving the thumbs up to romantic Italian meals for two at L’Ariosto and fiatowner has nothing but praise for the female-friendly mechanics at CM Garage who gave her the most “comfortable MOT experience” of her life - impressive stuff. In Manchester you’ve been stocking up on mouthwatering titbits at Katsouris Delicatessen - though as Etitall warns, “If this store was within walking distance I would very quickly become a very big fat pig” - and heading to Cuba Cafe for salsa lessons and cool DJs - it’s all go!

So how was your weekend? We can’t wait to read your reviews of the most interesting places in town so we can go there too…
