Pancakers Brace For Tuesday

Shrove Tuesday has something to do with Lent, confessions and Ash Wednesday according to Wikipedia, but I much prefer the simpler moniker of Pancake Day. Make ‘em, eat ‘em and occasionally race with ‘em - what could be more fun?
If you fancy cheering on some real athletes and can’t be bothered waiting until 2012 then get yourselves down to Montague Square for the Annual pancake Day Race:
For spectators and participants Borough Market trader Baxter’s and The Refectory at the Cathedral will be selling pancakes with a variety of toppings (cinnamon, lemon, nutella, fruit salad and banana).
Awesome. But if that sounds too much you can simply get yourselves along to one of London’s many creperies and try and put those supermarket ‘just add milk and shake’ pancake mix things to the back of your mind.
I can personally recommend My Old Dutch near Holbron tube, but La Creperie de Hampstead also seems pretty popular.
The beauty of the simple pancake though is that they’re a doddle to make at home. Just be careful where you’re tossing…
