Where to be this June
Summer is officially here! Even now the urge to throw the keyboard aside and go relax in the sun is growing. Thankfully there’s plenty going on this month that involves going out and having fun. Got your diaries handy? You may want to make a note of these London events that the TrustedPlaces team will be going along to throughout June:
- Free events at The Scoop throughout June when the amphitheatre becomes an open air cinema! Things kicks off in grand style with Michael Caine in The Italian Job tonight, and we’ll certainly be there on the 27th for Breakfast at Tiffany’s. We feel a ‘Moon River’ sing-along coming on.
- The Spitafields Festival runs from the 5th to the 22nd and is another event that we’ll be attending. “Spitalfields Festival will bring alive a host of East London venues with classical music, cutting-edge contemporary sounds, jazz, samba and Bangladeshi music.” Come and hang out with us on Friday the 15th!
- A few days later and the Coin Street Festival is a great way to kick off Refugee Week 2007 in London. It takes place on the 17th and we’ll be there!
- The 21st of June is now officially Music Day. Look out for TrustedPlaces t-shirts in such great venues as the Goethe Institute, Imperial College, The Natural History Museum and The Royal Albert Hall!
- After all that we cant resist popping along to Taste London on the 23rd for London’s food and drink festival. Although if you’re feeling really peckish you can go along every day from the 21st to the 24th.
But that’s not all! June is just chocka with events so maybe you’re off to one or more of these:
- The City of London Festival Concerts and Screenings (All month!)
- 02 Wireless (14th - 17th)
- Southbank Meltdown (16th-23rd)
- Dancing City (23rd)
- Hyde Park Calling (23rd-24th)
- Tower Music Festival (28th - 14th July)
- Wildchild (30th).
If you’re going to any of the same events as us feel free to let us know in the comments. And there’s so much going on that we’re sure to have missed a few. Let us know where you’re going and what other events you’d recommend to the community.
But wherever you end up this month remember to come back and write a review of your experience. Between us we can pinpoint the best events of summer 2007 ![]()

I am definetly up for seeing breakfast at tiffany’s in the open!! It will be sooo cool. I think the group should dress up in their finest as a tribute to the movie :). See ya there.

Hey Shel - I was at the Italian Job screening last night and if the weather doesn’t improve make sure your finest is also your warmest
It was a tad nippy once the wind picked up, but it didn’t spoil the movie at all.
